I haven't been designing lately but I sure have been sewing! Nancy Halverson's new book "Garden Song" caught my attention, when they arrived at Kindred Spirits Quilt Co. 2 weeks ago. I just couldn't resist the new fabric line, by Benartex, that came in to go with it. The colours are so happy and I just love the prints. I've posted a shot of the table runner that I made. It's just waiting for Jane Sandercock to add her wonderful quilting touches! I have also made 3 other projects from the book. They will be perfect gifts for Mother's Day.... or just to celebrate spring!
My Adobe Illustrator course is complete. I really enjoyed learning how to use that program. It will make a huge difference in the presentation of my pattern designs.
Speaking of pattern designs, the next one will be for the Niagara Spring Shop Hop on June 3rd, 4th and 5th. We've been brainstorming ideas! We hope that you will join us for the hop. Don't forget, there is a giveaway at each shop!
This is beautiful. I have a table runner all cut and ready to be appliqued from one of Nancy's books. I would love to make this one up too.
ReplyDeleteThis was so much fun to piece Tammy. I changed it a bit. I didn't like how square the flower centres looked in the original pattern so I cut 4-2" squares from the same fabric as my petal,s for each of the flowers and drew a diagonal line on the wrong side of each. I then sewed one square to each corner on the line and pressed. Trimmed away the excess and then carried on with the rest of the block.
ReplyDeleteThat table runner is gorgeous. I don't think I have seen any of her books. Will have to check her out.
ReplyDeleteHi Heather, you are looking for books by Art to Heart, by Nancy Halverson. They are all full of wonderful, fun projects!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your version! I'm always more inspired by seeing quilters interpretations than I am with pattern photos.
